Adobe is making a bold move in the generative AI space by removing image and video generation restrictions from the Firefly platform for a limited time. The company announced that new Adobe Firefly subscribers who sign up by March 16 will be able to generate unlimited images and videos. This is a big change in how creators can use AI tools without worrying about monthly credit limits.
For those unfamiliar, Adobe Firefly is Adobe’s suite of generative AI models designed for creating images and videos. This includes Adobe’s own commercially secure Firefly model, as well as powerful third-party integrations such as Google Nano Banana Pro, OpenAI’s GPT image generation, and Runway’s Gen-4 image model. Firefly is available as a standalone web app via firefly.adobe.com and as a dedicated app on iOS and visionOS.
Previously, Firefly subscription tiers were primarily defined by the number of generation credits users received each month, limiting experimentation and iteration. With this new offer, Adobe is completely removing caps on the Firefly Web Platform and Firefly Boards, provided users subscribe by the March 16 deadline.
Adobe says customers on Firefly Pro, Firefly Premium, and 4,000, 7,000, and 50,000 credit plans can generate unlimited images and Firefly videos up to 2K resolution. This applies across Adobe’s proprietary models and supported third-party AI image and video tools. However, it’s important to note that this offer only applies to standalone Firefly subscriptions and not to Creative Cloud plans.
Adobe says this decision reflects how creators are using AI today. The company reports that 86% of creators now rely on AI in their daily workflows, and the length of prompts has doubled in the past year. This suggests that AI is not new, but is becoming a core creative tool.
