Hyderabad: Google is rolling out two new AI (AI) features in the Google Photos app. Users will be able to turn their images into videos and convert images into different styles. Google Photos launched a new Create Tab, a new home for all editing tools, including new things like photos to remixes and everything else existing things like collages and highlight videos.
Photo to video functionality
The new photo to video feature in Google Photos is powered by Google VEO 2. Veo2 is an AI video generator that can convert any image into a 6-second video. It was already available on several Google products, such as Gemini and YouTube, but is now expanded to Google Photos. To use this feature, users must select an image from the gallery and select the option to convert it to video. Users should choose either “subtle moves” or “I feel lucky” to animate the image into a 6-second video.

The Tech giant said the feature allows users to breathe life into static memories. This feature began to be deployed to US users on both Android and iOS.
Remix function
The new remix feature in Google Photos is similar to Apple Intelligence's Image Playground. Using this feature, users can select images, select preset styles such as anime, comics, sketches, 3D animations, and convert according to their choice. Remix will be rolled out to US users on Android and iOS in the coming weeks.
