Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday launched India's first artificial intelligence-driven pilgrim integrated control centre (ICCC) in Thirumala, home to Lord Venkateshwara in Tirupati district.
An official release from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) said the ICCC will offer real-time crowd prediction, faster cues, improved safety, and cyberthreat monitoring across Tirumala.
The Vaikuntam Queue Complex facility integrates advanced cameras, 3D situation maps, and live dashboards monitored by a dedicated technical team. “The Prime Minister proposed that the Command and Control Centre be integrated with all major temples under the supervision of the TTD,” the official release said.
Built under a public-private partnership model by a group of NRI philanthropists, the centre has over 6,000 A-enabled cameras, which handles the system 360,000 payloads per minute, generates 2.5 billion inferences daily for 518 million events in real time, ensuring accurate crowd predictions, ensure safety and ensure cyber-reassessment across Tirumala.
“The new command hub will predict the waiting time for Sarva Darshanam from Aripiri, the foot of Thirumara, visualize 3D crowding and unify cyberthreat surveillance to protect pilgrims and temple systems,” the statement said.
TTD officials have told Naidu that on average, 4,500 followers are currently earning Lord Venkateshwara Lord darshan. The Prime Minister said that the number should be increased to 5,500 using AI technology.
He said strict vigilance should be maintained at the entrance to Aripiri to prevent the entry of alcohol and other prohibited items into Thirumara. He said that the Rush of followers needs to manage the Command Control Center in the right way.
Previously, the Prime Minister, along with the Vice President of India's CP Radhakrishnan, launched a new pilgrim amenity centre – Venkatadri Nilayam. £102 crores.
The 2,400 lockers, a new complex consisting of 16 dormitories, offer free accommodation to 4,000 pilgrims visiting Thirumara without having to book accommodation in advance. Two dining halls with a capacity of 1,400 people and Kalyan Katta for 80 pilgrims (Tongsing Hall) were present in the new complex.
The official release said both the Indian vice president and prime minister had travelled the complex to see amenities available to followers. They then launched the latest AI-based equipment to prepare the highest quality Prasadam in Thirumala Potu. Modern equipment will help you prepare a large amount of plasadam to maintain high quality.
