Two weeks ago, Microsoft announced a ton of new AI features for Bing and Edge. These updates are not empty promises that take a long time to actually implement, but have steadily introduced features to Microsoft’s platform.

Microsoft announced Tuesday that it is rolling out new updates to its Bing, Edge, Swiftkey, and Skype apps. These updates are aimed at improving the Microsoft AI experience on mobile.
Mobile updates for Bing Chat
If you’ve always enjoyed Bing on your desktop, the mobile experience has been enhanced so you can enjoy it on the go. Starting this week, you can add the Bing Chat widget to your phone’s home screen, making it easier to access your chatbot.
Widgets let you not only ask questions, but you can also use the microphone icon to ask questions verbally, so you can ditch Siri or Google Assistant and use advanced AI models.
Voice capabilities have also been improved, with more countries and languages supported, and more comprehensive language availability.

To improve how conversations flow across devices, starting this week you can resume desktop conversations on both iOS and Android.
According to Microsoft, simply click on an answer on your desktop, select the phone icon in the options menu to reveal a QR code, and scan it to resume your phone conversation.

If you’re browsing a web page and have additional questions, the Edge app can help. Soon, on Edge mobile, you’ll be able to ask Bing Chat questions related to the page you’re looking at by simply tapping the chat icon in the navigation bar.
This feature, called Contextual Chat, can also be used to ask Bing Chat to summarize an article or webpage you’re reading.
Similarly, if you need to clarify a particular aspect of what you’re reading (for example, if you want to clarify a line from a historical event), you can highlight a specific piece of text in the Edge app, and from Bing Chat You can select. Use the options menu to get the answers you need.
Both of these features don’t have exact release dates, but Microsoft says they’re coming soon.
Update Swiftkey and Skype
Swiftkey, Microsoft’s virtual keyboard app that allows you to access Bing Chat across different apps, has been greatly enhanced.
Rolling out today, Swiftkey’s new Compose feature lets you create text drafts with selected parameters like tone, format, length, and more, and use them to compose emails, texts, and more. Additionally, his two new tones, Witty and Funny, have been added to Swiftkey.
You can also access Microsoft’s AI-powered translation tool from your Swiftkey keyboard, translating any text to and from Bing-supported languages with the touch of a button. This feature is already available on Android and will be coming to iOS over the next week.
Bing Chat is accessible within all group chats within the Skype app. Simply type ‘@Bing’ into a conversation to access an AI chatbot and ask questions like ‘best place to eat in the area’. This feature is rolling out and will be available to everyone in the next few days.
