The White House is trying to remove barriers to the American artificial intelligence industry. Yesterday, President Trump announced a new plan of action designed to better manage American AI, including building infrastructure in liquidating regulatory hurdles.
This plan comes when AI use explodes. A recent Gallup poll in January found that 99% of Americans use at least one AI product per particular week.
On Thursday, Scripps News spoke with White House Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Krazios about three White House plans to boost AI innovation and support.
“The first pillar was about innovation. We need to make sure we are celebrating the rest of the world. And the next great technical discoveries related to AI happen here in the US. So there is a lot of effort involved in removing the red tapes of regulations that limit the US' ability to continue to lead,” Kratsios said.
“The second one was all about AI infrastructure. Ultimately, you need to be able to build the great data centers and power that you need to power them in the end. Make sure you have to do a lot of work on the permit side to make this happen.”
“And the third pillar is all about AI diplomacy. We hope that our incredible technologies, models, our computing and our chips will be exported all over the world.
