The video of the London breakfast attack was not real footage, it was generated by AI

AI Video & Visuals

Does the viral video actually document an incident in which a man was attacked by three migrants while having breakfast in London? No, it’s not. Visual analysis of Lead Stories showed a number of characteristics that strongly suggest this is not the actual footage. Two online AI generation detection tools concluded that there is a 99% to 99.9% chance that the video was generated by AI.

This claim was published in a post published to X by the @WearForbidden account on July 3, 2026 (archived here, here, here, and here). Opened:

POV: You’re trying to enjoy tea and crumpets in Western civilization while the traitorous class forces “diversity” on you.

The 15-second clip began with a man having breakfast in front of the Ritz London hotel. As he was pouring tea into his cup, two men approached and shouted at him. One of the assailants threatened to rape the man. Then a third attacker entered the frame, jumped on the table and flipped it over.

Two online AI detectors (Hive Moderation and Sightengine) determined that 99% to 99.9% of video scores were likely generated by AI.

The video also contained some artifacts pointing to the conclusion that it was artificially generated. For example, phone booths, road signs, and newspapers on the breakfast table displayed gibberish instead of legible text.

Then I dropped one of the two biscuits directly onto the table without using a plate. This is not the way food is normally served in cafes and restaurants.

Additionally, the suspected first attacker was carrying a knife that disappeared.

Remarkably, even four plates and one cup survived the violent attack.

Additionally, the account that posted the video reviewed in this fact check had a disclaimer. Part of that bioline (archived here and here) reads:
