TCS signs five-year agreement to support SAP cloud and AI implementation

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and business software and artificial intelligence (AI) giant SAP have signed a new five-year agreement. The goal of the deal is to help businesses more effectively leverage cloud technology and AI. In a blog post, TCS announced that it will help SAP improve its operations by simplifying complex IT systems, smoothing day-to-day operations, and enhancing AI tools. This partnership aims to shorten development cycles, reduce the total cost of operating IT, and ensure alignment of technology and business goals. This new agreement builds on the existing partnership between TCS and SAP that has lasted for 20 years. Previously, TCS helped SAP transition its business model from selling software licenses to offering flexible cloud-based services (called RISE with SAP). Over the next five years, TCS will focus on transforming the way SAP’s IT organization operates to accelerate new ideas and respond more quickly to business needs.

How TCS and SAP trading works

TCS helps SAP deliver critical services across the entire IT application lifecycle as part of enterprise IT transformation. This is done using integrated and efficient AI-powered models. The partnership will be supported by four major Centers of Excellence (CoE): Generative AI, Business Technology Platform, Business Data Cloud, and Customer Experience. The Generative AI CoE focuses on integrating GenAI capabilities into SAP business processes. Business Technology Platform CoE helps SAP build new capabilities faster using low-code and no-code tools. The Business Data Cloud CoE works to create unified data structures that enable SAP to turn enterprise data into products. The Customer Experience CoE explores new ways to understand and improve the customer experience across SAP’s value chain. These CoEs help SAP develop solutions, technologies, and processes that enable customers, partners, and employees to discover new growth opportunities. For the past 20 years, TCS has been a trusted partner of SAP across the business. The collaboration between the two companies enables clients to take full advantage of SAP’s cloud, AI, and data analytics capabilities.Commenting on the new agreement, V. Rajanna, President, Technology, Software and Services, TCS, said: “TCS and SAP have been in a strategic partnership for more than 20 years, enabling enterprises to advance complex digital transformation initiatives. We support the philosophy that ‘SAP does SAP,’ and as we enter the next phase, this partnership will leverage the transformational potential of AI and the cloud to unlock new revenue streams, accelerate business growth, and deliver differentiated experiences for businesses and their customers around the world.”
