LONDON – Synamedia announced that it will demonstrate AI by Quortex, a new just-in-time AI feature set in the Quortex portfolio that reduces costs and resources, at the 2026 NAB Show.
Synamedia reported that Quortex’s AI is designed to identify value-creating opportunities and enable capabilities “just-in-time” to support specific workflows, events, and other business needs, saving unnecessary spending and resources on video processing, distribution, and delivery. This approach challenges traditional models of always-on AI processing by applying intelligence only where it provides measurable value.
“The difference between AI hype and real-world use cases comes down to measurable value creation,” said Gwendal Simon, senior director of video network technology at Synamedia. “Quortex’s AI is a natural extension of our ‘just-in-time’ philosophy, eliminating the traditional wasteful approach of continuously using resources when true value is achieved only at specific points in time. These new innovations pinpoint when AI is needed across video distribution, processing and distribution, eliminating waste and enabling greater impact.”
Synamedia leverages Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Amazon Bedrock and AWS Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA), to provide real-time intelligence and processing at scale. Quortex smart sampling technology significantly improves live video understanding efficiency by identifying key moments before invoking the underlying model through Amazon Bedrock.
Rather than continuously processing batches of fixed frames, Quortex’s AI only triggers when meaningful changes or events are detected in the video or audio stream. This just-in-time approach can reduce the cost of understanding live video by up to 10x while powering applications such as content moderation, clipping, metadata enrichment, and search enhancements. At the same time, AWS EFA enables AI-based region of interest detection without impacting video processing instances, improving visual quality in critical areas while optimizing bitrate efficiency.
Synamedia said Quortex’s AI innovations can be categorized into three areas. These three areas are explained as follows:
- Content Understanding consists of plugins that transform your videos into intelligent assets by automating chapters and highlights, increasing discoverability, and enriching metadata. Six Floor Solutions generates in real-time the metadata tags you need to deeply understand your content, along with live automatic clipping and highlighting. AWS enhances metadata enrichment and content discovery capabilities, and Amazon Bedrock enables advanced AI-driven content understanding and automatic tagging.
- Real-time processing tools apply intelligence directly to video workflows to improve video quality, enhance accessibility, and enable real-time enhancements such as captioning, translation, and content adaptation. This pillar features heavily on third-party tools such as Lingopal for AI-generated accurate real-time translation and dubbing for livestreams and VOD, and Yuzzit for live clipping and automatic content verticalization.
- Operational Simplicity capabilities reduce complexity with AI-assisted deployments such as natural language workflow configuration, automated report generation, proactive monitoring, and guided operational insights.
Synamedia’s Quortex portfolio consists of: quartex linka pay-as-you-go, self-service, multi-tenant SaaS delivery platform. Quartex PowerVua secure cloud-native video delivery solution. quartex playa just-in-time direct-to-consumer streaming platform. and quartex switchis the industry’s first standards-based CDN switching solution to power multi-CDN management.
Quortex’s AI will debut at the 2026 NAB Show in the Innovation Corner of Synamedia booth W2851. To schedule a NAB Show demo, please visit: this website.
