One thing is clear as experts set new goals for the year. AI and machine learning are redefineing the Indian job market. According to Naukri.com, the AI/ML sector saw a 36% rise in demand this December, leading claims over oil and gas, FMCG and healthcare. “The Indian job market is moving into 2025 with vibrant entry,” Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer of Nowkuli, highlights the impact of creative and tech-driven sectors. From Python, R, Tensorflow to AI Ethics and NLP, companies are looking for candidates to innovate, adapt and lead. “AI-related skills are essential beyond roles,” said Joseph Sudheer Thumma, CEO of Magellanic Cloud, highlighting the idea of curiosity and growth as an important employment filter. Reflecting this, Rajesh Chandra Sogasu of Happest Minds Technologies added, “AI skills are essential to the Generating AI Business Unit and the Analytics Center of Excellence.” With the April-June rating wave on the horizon, 82% of experts are focused on switching jobs, according to Apna.co. Companies like Capgemini are already under pressure. “The delay from the OND evaluation cycle has pushed the decision in February and perhaps even September,” said Khushbu Singh, excellence in Capgemini's lead process. Bengaluru continues to dominate the employment capital of Indian AI, but cities such as Chennai (+35%), Hyderabad (+15%) and Coimbatore (+14%) are also hotbeds of emerging. Upskills are no longer an option as foreign MNCs promote fresh employment and the role of AI. This is the carrier currency for 2025.
