Artificial intelligence (A.I.) is becoming an increasingly important tool for the future. To educate students about this technology and its potential, a camp was organized in Greenville, North Carolina. The program, hosted by non-profit organization Building Hope, aimed to help sixth through eleventh graders express their creativity using A.I. tools.
During the camp, students had the opportunity to create their own short videos. They were given the freedom to choose any prompts they wanted and then worked through the process of video creation from start to finish. This included coming up with a prompt, writing a script, acting, and adding music.
The goal of the camp was to encourage students to think outside of their comfort zones and create content that is not only fun and entertaining but also valuable to others. Levi Casto, Bridges support for Building Hope, mentioned that A.I. can serve as a bridge to bring their ideas into tangible products.
Many of the students found the experience interesting and expressed a newfound interest in learning more about A.I. Even those who were unfamiliar with A.I. prior to the camp appreciated the opportunity to explore its features.
The camp not only focused on video production but also incorporated different media elements like a green screen. This allowed the students to experiment and add creative elements to their videos.
On Wednesday, awards were given out to recognize the students who created some of the best videos during the camp.
By providing hands-on experience with A.I. technology, the camp empowered students to harness their creativity and explore the potential of artificial intelligence.
