As per usual, a member of YouTube's creator team explained the new feature in a video on the Creator Insider channel: Erase Song was already available to all creators, but the technology “wasn't as accurate” as YouTube had hoped. The introduction of AI-generated insights has brought much-needed improvements to Erase Song.
Creators will have the updated tools available to them any time their videos receive a Content ID claim. “When you click 'Clear Song,' you'll see two options: 'Clear Song' and 'Mute All Sounds,'” a member of the Creator Insider team said in a recent video. “If the 'Clear Song' option doesn't successfully remove the claim on your video, creators can explore other post-claim editing options.” [YouTube Studio]Trim, mute, etc.”

Mohan, who was promoted to head YouTube after previously running the platform's product team, has made AI a major theme during his tenure, as YouTube has used AI to improve existing features and roll out new perks for creators.
The latest version of Erase Song will improve usability for creators who are grappling with one of YouTube's most persistent problems: Content ID claims that can prevent monetization, as was the case recently with Jenny Nicholson. Creators who use Erase Song to remove copyrighted tracks can turn the monetization taps back on more quickly than before.
According to a Creator Insider video, the new Erase Song tool will be rolling out in the “coming weeks.” Until then, creators who want to resolve their claims as quickly as possible can mute all audio for the claimed content.
