Members of the AP Star Hotels Association will call Prime Minister N. Chandrababnaidu at Tourism Technology Conclave, Vijayawada on Friday

On Friday, members of Andhra Pradesh Star Hotels Association (APHA) met Prime Minister N. Chandrababnaidu at Tourism Conclave, highlighting the need to modernize guest experiences, marketing and hotel operations by deploying AI-driven tools and digital innovations, and coordinating the state's vision for tourism excellence.

The Prime Minister welcomed the hotel industry's preparations to co-create a technology response roadmap for tourism growth.

Hotel managers also urged the government to ensure that the benefits of the full industry situation, particularly recurring benefits such as power tariff concessions, water taxes and property taxes, will be expanded not only to new star hotels, but all existing star hotels.

Members emphasized that while capital subsidies will naturally apply to the Greenfield Project, the ongoing operational advantage is that all classified hotels need to be treated fairly in order to maintain competitiveness as a quality tourist destination in Andhra Pradesh.

Additionally, hotels have been reclassified as a “green category” unit under the pollution control norms rather than the restrictive orange or red category, recommending that the hotels recognize sustainable practices and environmentally friendly upgrades in the industry.

Sources said the Prime Minister responded proactively and ensured that members of the association's proposals were carefully reviewed and appropriate instructions were issued to address these long-standing demands based on the state's tourism policy.

Apha Delegation will be Prabhu Kishore (Chairman of Novotel Varun Group), Gokaraju Gangaraju (Chairman of Lemon Tree Premier), and M. Rajaia (Managing Director, Taj Vivantavijayawada), Muttavarapu Murali Krishna (Managing Director, AP Star Murali Park) Chitui, Vice Chairman Venkat, Sharan Vallu (MD, GRT Grand Vijayawada).
