Squarespace debuts “AI-powered Business Partner” beacon

Squarespace has introduced what is called “AI-driven business partners” for entrepreneurs.

Squarespace Beacon AI was announced on Tuesday (September 30) by the website design platform and is part of the group of products, features and updates based on the company's “Refresh 2025” banner.

“At Squarespace, we know that entrepreneurs are navigating complex digital landscapes and looking for guidance on how to discover and grow,” said Paul Gubbay, Chief Product Officer of Squarespace, in a news release provided to PYMNTS.

“Using Update 2025, we are expanding our product suite by combining design expertise with AI-powered tools to make business easier while maintaining a genuine brand.”

Among these tools is Squarespace Beacon AI, designed to help entrepreneurs, such as creating, selling, and market automation.

“Whether you plan on launching a product or identifying new growth opportunities, Squarespace Beacon AI offers recommendations at every step,” the release states.

Also, with artificial intelligence (AI), which transforms the way consumers find their businesses, Squarespace is expanding its offer of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with new AI Optimization (AIO) tools that help improve traditional visibility and AI-related visibility and search rankings without reducing design integrity.

As PYMNTS writes, many small businesses are helping them compete with large counterparts with their eyes on tools powered by artificial intelligence.

Earlier this year, the Verizon Business '2025 State of Small Business Survey discovered that 38% of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) have begun to integrate AI into their businesses.

Over a quarter of these companies say they deploy AI in marketing and social media, with 24% using it for written communications. Almost a quarter heads towards AI to supply digital personal assistants who can help with customer service, while other uses include cybersecurity, employment and worker retention.

“Small businesses cannot compete with large companies on a scale, so they need to compete smartly,” Mary Kaybowman, executive vice president and general manager of payments and financial services at Software Provider Building, said in an interview with PYMNTS.

“The smartest thing small businesses can do is use AI to unlock the top-tier financial expertise and tools that enterprise companies have ever used.”

Bowman added that the best AI tools for SMB are not flashy high-tech add-ons, but are built with the needs of small businesses in mind.

“Silicon Valley needs to provide AI that actually delivers the tangible results that small businesses need. It frees up bandwidth to save time, improve accuracy and focus on growth,” she told PYMNTS.
