Special workshop on practical use of AI

Following strong demand over the past year, Law Society Skillnet has announced that it will be holding additional introductory AI workshops across the country.

The “Introduction to AI for Legal Practitioners” workshop, led by AI consultant Donna O’Leary, focuses on unlocking low-risk AI applications tailored to legal practices.

Additional sessions will be run regionally across Ireland this year from 12 February.

This in-person training will introduce lawyers to how to use AI in practice while prioritizing their professional responsibilities. Attendance is limited to 20 people and sessions will feature live demos. Participants must bring a laptop, iPad, or tablet.

Main topics covered:

  • session 1: AI core concepts, terminology, tool types, limitations, and current legal applications. Important considerations and first practical usage,
  • session 2: Expand your AI use cases, identify low-risk applications for your business, and
  • session 3: Advanced instant techniques, common mistakes, benchmark tests, professional obligations, core values, risk management.

Learning outcomes

Participants will understand the fundamentals of AI, identify appropriate use cases, apply practical tools, and perform their professional duties with confidence.

Courses run in Dundalk, Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Donegal, Kerry and Galway. These small group sessions combine discussion, demonstration, and hands-on learning.

This workshop has three periods for professional development and lawyer well-being (with group learning).
