SLB and AIQ deploy AI underground in ADNOC

AI News

Global energy technology company SLB and Abu Dhabi-based AI expert AIQ have announced a joint venture to develop and deploy the agent's artificial intelligence solution, Energy, across ADNOC's underground operations.

Built on 70 years of unique data, Energyᵃⁱ combines agent AI and large language models tailored to ADNOC's workflow. In the first test, using only 15% of the data from ADNOC's two oil fields, the system was 10 times faster and provided an accurate seismic interpretation of 70%.

SLB and AIQ will co-create and implement agent AI workflows for geology, seismic and reservoir modeling, enhanced by SLB's LUMI™ data and AI platforms.

A scalable version of energy, which includes multiple AI agents that handle various underground tasks, is currently under development, and deployment is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.

“This partnership reflects our vision of leveraging AI for energy optimization. Our energy agent AI solutions maintain their scale and impact,” said Dennis Jol, CEO of AIQ.

Rakesh Jaggi, president of SLB's Digital & Integration, added: “The collaboration with AIQ already offers innovative solutions. It is currently building the foundation for the next era of intelligent energy operations.”

Through energy, the partnership seeks to automate complex high-stakes tasks, enhance decision-making, and optimize production across ADNOC upstream operations.
