SKF signs global AI-driven business transformation agreement with TCS

AI For Business

Rikard Gustafsson, CEO of Swedish company SKF, which manufactures bearings, seals and lubrication systems, said his company is partnering with Tata Consultancy Services to build an operational and AI foundation that will set new standards for accuracy and customer value across the industry.

“The next decade of industrial manufacturing will be determined by how deeply companies embed AI into the way they design, produce, and deliver services. SKF intends to lead that change,” Gustafsson said in a stock exchange filing by TCS on Tuesday.

With TCS, the company is not only modernizing its technology but also building an operational and AI foundation for the future, he said. “This is a long-term commitment between two companies that share a belief in where industrial manufacturing is headed,” Gustafsson added.

TCS has entered into a strategic partnership with SKF to accelerate intelligent transformation across its global operations. Through this partnership, TCS will enable SKF to leverage AI to reimagine its industrial manufacturing business and build a future-ready digital enterprise. As part of the initiative, TCS said it will provide end-to-end managed services across applications, infrastructure, data, end-user services, security and connectivity to SKF globally.

“Our partnership with SKF is focused on modernizing the global IT environment and building a resilient and scalable digital foundation for the future,” said K. Krithivasan, MD and CEO, Tata Consultancy Services.

He further said that the two companies are working together to apply data-driven intelligence and AI to build agile companies that can adapt to technological and market changes while supporting long-term sustainable growth and competitiveness.

“This partnership reflects our joint commitment to make SKF an AI-native, industry-leading, technology-driven industrial manufacturer. TCS leverages deep domain expertise with advanced technology and partnership ecosystem to deliver results-driven, enterprise-scale business transformation across the value chain,” said Kritivasan.

The partnership with SKF builds on TCS’ strong foothold in the Nordic region, where it has operated since 1991, according to a regulatory filing. Today, more than 20,000 TCS employees support leading companies in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark, driving growth and transformation for the region’s top companies across multiple sectors.
