Siemens Healthineers launches new AI-powered radiology service, simulation

November 24, 2025 — Siemens Healthineers launches artificial intelligence-enabled services to help healthcare providers address challenges ranging from hands-on image interpretation to complex scenario planning across healthcare environments. The company’s new suite of radiology services1 is designed to span the imaging chain from scheduling to image generation to reporting. It bundles existing services with new services, such as an AI enablement service that can provide radiologists with custom-built summaries of clinically relevant observations, saving them time annotating images and creating reports. In addition, the company is enhancing its advisory services with artificial intelligence (AI) to simulate complex scenarios and recommend operational improvements for hospital departments and other healthcare providers.2

The new products will be announced at the 2025 Radiological Society of North America Conference in Chicago.

Increasing demand for diagnostic imaging and a shortage of specialists is putting increased pressure on existing staff, and patients are waiting longer for appointments and results. To ease the burden on radiology teams and help them work more efficiently, the new vendor-neutral suite of services is designed to comprehensively support radiologists by taking over some of the more routine processes. In this way, the impact of staff shortages can be reduced and burnout among radiologists can be reduced. A pilot project shows that using a new AI-enabled solution, radiologists can annotate chest CT images up to 25% faster, significantly reducing cognitive load.3 The clinical accuracy of the results remained at the same high level.4

“It’s very similar to having a resident draft a case; the heavy lifting is already done when they open the case. This allows them to move through the case more efficiently and reduces their cognitive load,” says William Bowman, MD, a radiologist at MetroHealth System, a nonprofit public health system in Cleveland. He is already testing AI services with his team.

The new AI-enabled service is a key component of Siemens Healthineers’ suite of radiology services, which also includes existing services for remote scanning and reading. This allows customers to receive support from medical technology radiologists during magnetic resonance imaging image acquisition through remote scanning services. In this way, radiology departments will be able to better address staff shortages and organize shifts more flexibly, while maintaining the standard of care for patients.
