Montreal, Canada. Haivision has released an updated version of the Kraken video processing platform that integrates AI-enabled object detection through Shield AI's tracker software, Haivision announced in a statement.

The Kraken platform is designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) applications and situational awareness at the tactical edge, the statement reads. Encode, transcode, and forward full motion video (FMV) and metadata over unreliable network connections.

The new software integration allows Kraken users to process live video from crews or non-white four aircraft with detection and tracking of AI-assisted objects in land and maritime environments, the company says. The system can package metadata along with FMV for use with popular working photography tools such as TAK and ATAK to detect vehicles, people, boats and other objects, the statement adds.
