The new AI trend is a fusion of nostalgia, fashion and technology that wipes out social media. Google's Gemini Nano Banana tool produces the editing of viral sary. Users upload photos and transform into 1990s-style portraits with elegant saris, dramatic lighting and retro backgrounds. Millions of people embrace the trend, but not everyone is impressed.

Shantanu Naidu, the young aide and “millennial manager,” industrialist Ratan Tata, gained weight with humorous critiques and enjoyed those taking part in the trend. Naidu, known for his witty online presence, emphasized the irony of generating sari images with AI when most participants already own multiple saris.

He said, “Tum Log India MeHai. AmericaMein NahiHai. India! Land of Saree. At least 15 Saree Hai. It'll be very lazy… You've already asked AI to produce the fabric that's in your wardrobe.”

Naidu then suggested that the user would look much better than the AI-generated sari.

He continued to expand his playful critique, pointing out situations where AI Saree editing was not required and AI could be more useful. Since Indians don't normally own it, it makes more sense to generate photos in a white wedding gown. Similarly, asking AI to make a photo with your dog seemed pointless. “The dog is right next to me. Please sit with him and click on the picture!”

The video immediately chorded with the viewers. Viewers were garnered in comments with amusing reactions. One user wrote, “Inner Me: Someone finally said it.” Another added, “My companion casually spilled the truth and sipped his tea.” The third person cried out, “Finally, someone chose to tell the truth.” And another said, “U ra star .. It's no wonder our hero Ratan Tata loved you so much.”

Google's Nano Banana AI, embedded in the Gemini app, first gained fame by creating 3D figure-style edits. The tool has since been extended to other formats, and Saree Transformations has become one of the most popular online applications.
