British personalized video startup Sendr has launched an e-commerce product that automatically generates personalized video messages for shoppers, including those who have abandoned online checkout.
Early campaigns showed a 33% increase in cart abandonment recovery revenue compared to clear text email benchmarks. In one pilot campaign, Sendr reported a 10x increase in click-through rates.
Personalized remarketing is common with email and SMS, but with video it’s more difficult to create large volumes of personalized content. Sendr is positioning its launch as a new e-commerce remarketing channel that leverages automated video creation.
abandoned basket
Abandoned carts remain a persistent challenge for online retailers. Industry estimates put the global value of abandoned carts at trillions of dollars annually, much of which remains unfinished. Sender noted that cart abandonment is estimated at US$4 trillion annually, and said that approximately 70% of shopping carts are abandoned.
Use cases include influencer-driven online stores. Early developments include sites related to Paris Fury and Pete Wicks. The product is designed for broader retail use across various stages of the e-commerce customer journey, not just checkout abandonment.
Sendr was previously responsible for sales and corporate outreach. The company said brands using its platform include the Financial Times. The focus on e-commerce expands Sendr’s addressable market beyond outbound campaigns to automated lifecycle messaging for online stores.

The system generates a personalized video page for each recipient. You can address shoppers by name, show them specific items left in their cart, or include a link back to checkout.
Sendr combines lip-sync video generation, audio cloning, and dynamic product insertion. It supports 74 languages and can quickly generate large batches of personalized videos for large-scale campaigns.
Sendr has built a direct integration with Klaviyo, a widely used platform for e-commerce email and SMS automation. Sendr said Klaviyo is used by more than 500,000 online stores. This integration allows retailers to trigger personalized video pages through automated flows that respond to shopper behaviors such as checkout abandonment.
In the Paris Fury pilot, the campaign targeted shoppers who added items to their shopping carts but did not complete their purchases. According to Sendr, personalized video messages outperformed the best-performing plaintext email used in testing, increasing cart abandonment revenue by 33% and increasing click-through rates by 10x.
Sendr developed its e-commerce capabilities in response to interest from creator-led stores. Influencer brands often rely on personal connections and direct communication with their fans, making personalization a central part of their marketing, especially when targeting highly minded shoppers who have already made their product choices.

Some of the initial trial sites are managed by Protechmedia, which works with brands, celebrities and athletes on e-commerce businesses. Sendr said Protechmedia CEO Steve Flanders was an early user of Sendr and approached the startup about testing video-based remarketing for abandoned carts.
This tool is designed for any retailer, not just influencer-driven stores. Sendr also targets use cases beyond basket collection, such as marketing sign-ups and other lifecycle messages.
“Abandoned carts are a multi-trillion dollar headache for e-commerce, and video personalization like this gives brands a whole new tool to restore purchase intent,” said David Cannell, CEO and co-founder of Sendr.
“Until now, no one had been able to achieve personalized video at scale with lip sync, but we’ve effectively opened a new remarketing channel. The scope is limitless, and anyone running an e-commerce store could potentially benefit from this,” Cannell said.
Funding and growth
Sendr was founded in 2025 and has raised £600,000 in pre-seed funding. The company said its backers include strategic angel investors, including former Klaviyo executives and e-commerce founders.
Sendr plans to raise follow-on funding in late 2026. We expect to expand our product integrations and add e-commerce workflows as we compete in a crowded marketing automation market that already includes email, SMS, and web personalization.
“Our core use case is working with brands on personalized outreach campaigns, and we see great potential in discovering this use case. If we can reduce abandonment by even 1%, there is a revenue opportunity in the tens of billions of dollars,” said John Bromley, co-founder of Sendr.
“We always believed video personalization would go mainstream. We all know video has the power to influence behavior, but we never expected e-commerce to be the first to unleash it,” Bromley said.
