Seminar on “Approximate calculation for machine learning in VLSI systems”

Machine Learning

Thursday, May 7, 2026 AIUB Engineering Student Community (ACES) A technical session was held in Appendix 3 of . American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB). The session was held from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and focused on new concepts in approximate computing and machine learning applications in VLSI systems and aimed to provide students with insight into the latest computational techniques and their impact on advanced engineering techniques.

The event started with ABM Professor Siddique Hossain (professor and dean, AIUB Faculty of Engineering)emphasized the importance of innovation and research in engineering education and encouraged students to explore modern technological advances. The person in charge of the technical session was Mr. Mohammad Ashkul Noor (AIUB Faculty of Engineering Lecturer), We focused on integrating approximate computational techniques into machine learning hardware design, highlighting power efficiency, computational optimization, and the growing importance of VLSI systems in modern intelligent applications. This session provided participants with valuable insights into current research trends and practical implementation in the field of electrical and electronic engineering.

Towards the end of the program, speakers were presented with certificates of appreciation. Dr. Saniat Rahman Jishan (Professor and Director, AIUB Faculty of Engineering), and Dr. Shahryar Masood Rizvi (Associate Professor [EEE],AIUB) Valuable contribution to the seminar was recognized. The event concluded with an interactive discussion session where students interacted with the speakers and gained a deeper understanding of approximate computing, machine learning integration, and future possibilities in VLSI research and development.
