Barcelona in Spain and Maison Lafite in France. Semidynamics and SiPearl are partnering to develop a European rack-scale AI computing platform dedicated to large-scale AI inference in the cloud. Both companies have a common goal of delivering autonomous, high-performance, energy-efficient computing solutions that support European public and private initiatives, including AI Factory and Giga Factory applications.
said Roger Espasa, CEO of Semidynamics. “We are pleased to collaborate with SiPearl and offer European-made CPUs as part of our AI inference platform.” “SiPearl’s high-performance CPUs combined with Semi-Dynamics’ RISC-V-based GPU/AI inference technology gives Europe a trusted path to a sovereign rack-scale AI infrastructure built around European-managed computing,” said Roger Esparza, CEO of Semi-Dynamics.
Per the partnership agreement, SiPearl’s Arm-based CPUs will provide general-purpose compute, orchestration, and data plane hosting, and Semidynamics’ RISC-V-based GPU/AI inference ASICs will be the primary acceleration engine for AI inference workloads, powering future performance scaling.
The anticipated outcome is a rack-scale system that provides the density needed for an AI platform. According to a press release, the rack design is based on Open Computing Project (OCP) standards and supports interoperability and coordination with established cloud and data center infrastructure practices.
The targeted applications are:
- Deploying AI inference in the cloud, specifically LLM and search augmentation generation (RAG) pipelines
- Enterprise-scale inference in areas such as customer service automation and industry analytics
- Sovereign public sector workloads where data management and autonomy are essential
“SiPearl is excited to see the fruits of many years of work in the European Processor Initiative and the EU Sovereign Ecosystem come to fruition in this platform. This represents the systematic progress that Semidynamics and SiPearl have made individually and jointly, and will showcase the strengths of both companies in CPUs and accelerators,” said Philip Notton, CEO and founder of SiPearl.
