The School of Business Administration may add a minor called Artificial Intelligence for Business. The University Academic Senate approved the proposal at its Dec. 8 meeting, and former Provost Sarah Feldner, University President Kimo Ayun, and the Board of Trustees approved the proposal. If approved, the major could be offered as early as fall 2026.
The School of Business Administration, where I proposed the minor, currently has courses that touch on AI, but there is no comprehensive program in place. In the new program, students will choose a specialization in either disruptive technology or machine learning and complete two courses in areas such as marketing, finance, and supply chain. To complete the major, students must complete a capstone on Ethical and Responsible AI.
