Paris and San Francisco, October 2, 2025 (Globe Newswire) – SCALITY, the global leader in storage software for cyber residents in the AI era, and INRIA, the French National Laboratory for Digital Science and Technology, announces its active participation in the Cyberté project. The Cyberté project was selected by the French 2030 Investment Program as part of the invocation of the I-Démo project.

“Cyberté is at the heart of our mission: to build safer, more sovereignty and build a more sustainable digital future.” Jérôme Lecat, CEO and co-founder of Scality. “By combining our industrial expertise with the excellence of French research embodied by INRIA with the critical support of France 2030, we help develop strategic solutions to protect your most important data while managing your environmental footprint.”

“Strengthening the digital industry ecosystem is at the heart of INRIA's mission,” he said. Bruno Sports, CEO of INRIA. “The partnership with Scality, a leader in this field, is strategic in this regard. Within this framework, our joint project, Cyberté, has been submitted for support from France 2030. Funding through the I-DEMO programme can accelerate the development of strategic French and European data storage solutions that are reliable, environmentally and robustly responsible.”

AI for safer, more reliable, and more efficient storage

The Cyberté project aims to use artificial intelligence to transform the management, security, and energy efficiency of storage infrastructure. Research conducted by INRIA project teams allows Scality to integrate:

  • AI Prediction Model Predict hardware and software failures.
  • Real-time anomaly detection algorithm Quickly identify early signs of attacks, such as ransomware and data delamination, even when encrypted traffic.
  • A simple AI approach and methodology Reduce your energy footprint using software-defined power meters (PowerAPI initiative).

Official collaboration for digital sovereignty

This collaboration will enable INRIA to apply its research into practical industrial issues to the latest developments in French public research on artificial intelligence.

By leveraging Scality's industrial capabilities and INRIA's scientific excellence, the two partners can overcome key technical barriers in large-scale storage, in line with the French 2030s goal of supporting strategic technologies developed in France to address the challenges of cyber resilience and sustainability.

Specific technological advances for sustainable global applications

The Cyberté project illustrates the direct impact of public research on industrial innovation. The INRIA and Scality teams are working to transform data storage sustainably by providing concrete solutions and key technological advancements.

  • Development of cutting-edge AI algorithms and modelshas been verified with actual data.
  • Creating a functional prototype Integrated into Scality ring and Artesca Solution.
  • Designing simple methods and algorithms To reduce energy consumption.
  • Joint Science PublicationsSharing the expertise acquired and contributing to a broader ecosystem regarding storage and AI.

About the Inner
Inria He is the French National Institute of Digital Science and Technology, and has been responsible for the Agence de Programme Dans Lumérique (Digital Programme Agency), which has been designed to enhance the collective dynamics of higher education and research since January 2024. Its DNA is based on world-class research, innovation and entrepreneurial risk. The 220 project teams are mostly shared with leading research universities, with over 3,800 scientists often exploring new paths in interdisciplinary collaborations with industry partners to address ambitious challenges. As a technology research lab, INRIA supports a wide range of innovation paths. From publishing open source software to creating technology startups (DeepTech).

About France 2030

  • Translate double ambitions: We will transform our major sectors of economy (health, energy, automobile, aviation, space) into sustainable through technological innovation, positioning France not only as a player but as the world leader of tomorrow. From basic research to the emergence of ideas to the production of new products or services, France 2030 supports the entire lifecycle of innovation, up to its industrialization.
  • The scale is unprecedented: EUR 54 billion will be invested to enable our companies, universities and research institutions to make the transition in these strategic sectors perfectly successful. Challenge: To enable them to respond competitively to the ecological and attractive challenges of the world that will come, and to bring out future leaders in outstanding sectors. France 2030 is defined by two cross-cut goals, consisting of dedicating 50% of spending to decarbonise the economy, with 50% of emerging players promoting innovation without spending harmful to the environment (in the sense of the key principles of DO).
  • It is implemented collectively: Design and deploy in consultation with economic, academic, local and European stakeholders to determine strategic directions and important actions. Project leaders are invited to submit applications via open, demanding and selective procedures to benefit from government support.
  • It is managed by the general secretariat for investment It was carried out on behalf of the Prime Minister by the Ecosystem Transition Agency (Ademe), the National Research Agency (ANR), Bpifrance and the bank's Teletoile.
