SAP has embarked on a broad expansion of its enterprise AI strategy, launching what the company calls the “Autonomous Enterprise.” This signals a broader shift towards embedding AI directly into core business operations rather than treating it as a standalone productivity layer.
At the heart of this announcement is the new SAP Business AI Platform. It combines SAP’s Business Technology Platform, Business Data Cloud, and Business AI services into a single environment for building and managing AI-driven enterprise applications. The platform uses SAP Knowledge Graph technology to structure business data, relationships, and workflows, allowing AI agents to operate with better context and governance.
“For our customers’ mission-critical processes, ‘almost right’ is not enough,” he said. Christian Klein, CEO of SAP SE. “By integrating SAP Business AI Platform and SAP Autonomous Suite, we can anchor AI agents in business processes, data, and governance to deliver accurate, compliant, and secure results, unlocking new revenue streams and meaningful cost savings.”
SAP also introduced SAP Autonomous Suite, which deploys AI assistants and specialized agents across business functions to automate operational workflows. According to the company, more than 50 field-specific assistants will support tasks such as financial settlement, reconciliation, procurement, and supply chain management. One example on display is an autonomous financial close assistant designed to shorten the close cycle from weeks to days through automatic journal entry, reconciliation, and problem resolution.
SAP has also expanded its AI ecosystem through partnerships with companies such as Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palantir Technologies. These partnerships span foundational models, agent interoperability, data integration, workflow orchestration, and AI-driven ERP migration tools.
The company also announced a €100 million partner fund to support enterprise AI adoption and accelerate the adoption of AI assistants and autonomous workflows across the customer ecosystem.
