U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has released an AI-generated Christmas ad that shows Santa Claus working as an ICE agent.
The video shows an imposing “Father Christmas” wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a weapon, urging illegal immigrants to voluntarily leave the country.
The AI-generated figure wears Santa's traditional red suit, has a white beard, and has the ICE logo on his chest.
He is then shown on the street, alongside other officers, detaining migrants, processing one at an immigration detention facility and escorting him to a plane for deportation.
The video encourages illegal immigrants to “avoid Santa's Naughty List” by using the CBP One app to self-deport. The CBP One app was previously used by the Biden administration to allow immigrants to legally enter the United States.
The caption of the video states that if participants leave the country voluntarily, they will be given $3,000 and a free flight back to their home country.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the incentives, which triple during the holiday period, will be available through the end of 2025 and will be provided to undocumented immigrants.
The campaign is part of a broader effort by the department to promote voluntary deportations as an alternative to formal enforcement measures.
This comes just weeks after an earlier ad posted on social media showing immigration enforcement officers decked out in Christmas decorations, using Santa Claus-inspired puns to promote the Trump administration's mass deportation plan.
These images are part of a campaign entitled “YOU'RE GOING HO HO HOME”.
The image shows one of the agents wearing a Santa hat and armed with a semi-automatic rifle. Another agent wearing a Santa hat holds up a bulletproof shield covered in multicolored lights. In the second photo, the words “Merry Christmas” are engraved on the bulletproof shield.
DHS followed up this post with a GIF of President Donald Trump doing his signature dance moves superimposed on Santa's sleigh.
The holiday-themed clip is just the latest in a series of social media content that continues to push the effort to deport Trump despite protests and backlash.
Throughout the year, DHS and other immigration enforcement agencies have used memes, popular social media trends, songs by famous artists, and evoked nostalgia to further the president's desire to free millions of illegal immigrants.
