The South Korean technology giant expects second-quarter operating profit for the April-June period to be about 89.4 trillion won ($58.8 billion), up about 1,810% from 4.68 trillion won in the same period last year.
Quarterly sales are expected to reach 171 trillion won, an increase of about 129% compared to 74.57 trillion won in the same period in 2025. The company plans to release its full earnings report later this month, including net income and business segment breakdown.
If this result is confirmed, Samsung will set new sales and operating profit records for the third consecutive quarter.
This surge was driven by strong demand for advanced memory chips used in AI data centers. As technology companies continue to expand their AI infrastructure, tight semiconductor supplies are supporting soaring prices and boosting profits for major memory chip makers.
Samsung further strengthened its position by expanding production and shipments of high-value memory products, including the latest high-bandwidth memory chips designed for AI applications. At the same time, the increased focus on advanced AI chips continues to limit the supply of traditional memory products and drive up prices across the broader market.
Earlier, Kajinform News reported that memory chip prices are expected to rise at a much faster pace than previously expected over the next 18 months.
