Samsung may bring AI-powered live translation feature to WhatsApp chats: details below

Samsung introduced AI-powered features such as live translation in its Galaxy S24 series this year, but the company may now roll out the tool to other apps. Samsung's latest One UI update will reportedly bring live translation to WhatsApp chats as well.

Details about the upcoming feature come from a reliable tipster who goes by the name Ice Universe, who shares reliable Samsung news and updates, who shared a post from the X and said, “Galaxy AI will power real-time translations in WhatsApp.”

Though not mentioned in the post, the tipster suggests that Samsung may make a big announcement about Galaxy AI at its Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris on July 10, which is just 24 hours from now. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are expected to be the first Samsung devices to come with these AI features as standard, with older models expected to arrive eventually as well.

Samsung had unveiled Live Translate in January this year along with Circle to search and other suite of Galaxy AI features. The translation feature helps in real-time translation of calls and as the company claims, all data is processed on the device.

Samsung also guarantees that translated chats are stored locally instead of being sent to their servers, making the results faster and more accurate. Bringing live translation to WhatsApp will also help more users join the Galaxy ecosystem and encourage them to buy the product.
