Reverued has seen in detail that its latest research report, Using AI, announced its release between SMEs and medium-sized businesses, and entrepreneurs are rapidly adopting artificial intelligence to grow and streamline businesses and evaluate business loan options with more confidence.
The findings come from a survey of nearly 300 small business owners across the United States in September in early 2025. The results reveal dramatic changes. Sixty percent of respondents said they were not using AI at the beginning of the year, but over 90% reported using at least one AI tool.
The report highlights where AI is having the biggest impact on small businesses. Marketing and content creation have emerged as the most common entry points, with 66% of owners using AI to write posts, creating ads, and designing visuals. Customer Service is the second most popular application, with one of three small businesses relying on chatbots and automation to respond to inquiries 24 hours a day. Other uses include document drafting, bookkeeping, scheduling and workflow automation.

Pastor Grant, senior Product Marketing Manager at Revenued. “Our research shows that not only are SMEs embracing AI, they are also finding real, measurable benefits in efficiency, cost savings and growth potential.”
The key findings from the report are as follows:
- Almost 70% of AI users in small and medium-sized businesses rely on ChatGPT or other OpenAI models, and rely on Google Gemini, Canva's Magic Studio, Grammarly, and QuickBooks AI.
- 60% of respondents rated the usefulness of AI as 4 or 5 out of 5, citing massive time savings and cost reductions.
- The biggest challenges include lack of training, costs, integration with existing systems, and data privacy concerns.
- Almost half of employers plan to expand their use of AI next year.
In addition to the release of the survey, Revenued also launched a corresponding podcast episode featuring conversations with small business owners who participated in the study. This episode delves deep into the data, explores success stories, and addresses concerns about accuracy, training and affordability.
