Reddit announces AI tools to improve advertising performance through real-time community insights

AI News

Reddit has introduced two new artificial intelligence-powered advertising capabilities aimed at increasing campaign effectiveness and engagement by leveraging real-time user conversations on its platform.

The social media company has announced the launch of Reddit Insights by Community Intelligence, an AI-driven tool designed to provide advertisers with timely, data-rich insights for campaign planning. By analyzing trend discussions across Reddit's diverse community, marketers can identify new topics, test ideas, and shape more responsive advertising strategies.

To further strengthen ad-relatedness, Reddit also has a “Conversation Overview Add-on.” This is a feature that allows brands to highlight user comments that are advantageously directed under the promoted posts. It aims to create a more organic advertising experience by introducing authentic, positive emotions from the Reddit community.

This feature is part of Reddit's broader strategy to attract advertisers when economic uncertainty encourages brands to seek more flexible and efficient solutions. Competitors like Snap and Pinterest are also investing in AI to reduce ad targeting and performance.

Reddit Chief Operating Officer Jen Wong has revealed that the French-based advertising giant group is already using Reddit's insights. The platform will be able to access additional institutions starting in July.

Reddit's latest initiative follows a downward revision of global advertising growth forecasts by WPP Media. This cites concerns about changes in US trade policies by 7.7% to 6% to 6% to 6%. According to WPP's media investment division, brands are increasingly selecting adaptable contracts, turning to AI tools to streamline advertising production and improving targeting accuracy.

While Reddit predicted better revenue than expected in the second quarter of last month, CEO Steve Huffman warned that a decline in traffic from Google search could pose short-term challenges.

In March, Reddit also rolled out new moderation and analytics features designed to help users follow community standards and track content performance more effectively.
