Ranveer Singh files FIR against AI-generated deepfake video

Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh has also become a recent victim of deepfakes, following other celebrities like Rashmika Mandhana and Aamir Khan. An AI-generated video of Ranveer is going viral on the internet, in which he is seen promoting his political party. Since we are in the middle of Lok Sabha elections, this incident and many similar incidents are happening more frequently.

Ranveer Singh was recently in Varanasi with Kriti Sanon and Manish Malhotra for a fashion show when a video of him giving an interview and endorsing a political party started going viral. Although the video initially seemed real, the audio is a voice clone of the actor using his AI. The actor's official spokesperson confirmed that the actor has filed an FIR against the viral video and the matter has also reached the cyber cell. “Yes, a police complaint has been filed and an FIR has been filed against the handle that was promoting Ranveer Singh's AI-generated deepfake video,” the spokesperson said.
