Following the incident, the Cyber Cell of the Maharashtra Police has taken steps to register an FIR against an individual identified as @sujataindia1st who allegedly uploaded the deepfake video. The complaint was filed by Singh's father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, who expressed concern about the possible damage to his son's reputation.

However, X (ex-Twitter) account owner @sujataindia1st created a deepfake video in which the actor says, “Celebrating our hard lives, fear and unemployment is Modiji's purpose and goal. The controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh's deepfake video comes on the heels of a similar incident involving fellow Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.
