JAIPUR: Rajasthan will announce the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) Policy 2026 on January 6 during the AI Regional Conference to be held in Jaipur after the state cabinet approved the policy on December 30, officials said.The policy aims to strengthen governance systems, improve public service delivery and create new avenues for learning and employment, especially for young people. “The policy broadly focuses on three pillars: good governance and transparency, improving the skills of students and professionals, and creating opportunities for better investment and innovation,” said an official involved in drafting the policy. The main thrust of this policy is to automate government services and grievance redress systems, resulting in faster responses and lower procedural hurdles for citizens. “The aim is to automate planning and service delivery as much as possible and provide immediate solutions to the public,” the official added. “AI tools will also strengthen the grievance redressal system, ensuring that complaints are resolved more quickly and transparently.” A dedicated AI data center is proposed to be set up in Jaipur to support government departments, ensure secure data storage and provide real-time assistance to users across the state. In the health sector, AI will be used to assist doctors with diagnosis, pathology, and telemedicine, especially in rural areas. “The AI-based system will help read pathological reports and alert doctors in real-time, even when patients are far away from major hospitals,” a health ministry official said. “Patient and physician data is stored on a centralized platform, so you can securely access your treatment records anywhere in the state.” In education, AI-based tools will be deployed to track student performance, provide personalized learning modules, and improve outcomes in public schools. The policy also focuses on building a skilled talent base by expanding AI and ML training programs. “Students and young professionals will be encouraged to work on AI-based projects,” the official said, adding that selected AI tools may be offered through a free subscription that provides hands-on experience. Officials said startups will be encouraged to develop AI solutions across sectors. The policy will be rolled out in phases, starting with pilot projects in key sectors.
