“Hello everyone. I'm sharing this alert message. This is rare on my social media, but it's necessary,” Nadal wrote.
“My team and I have detected that fake videos generated by artificial intelligence are circulating on several platforms, where people who mimic my image and voice are shown.
In these videos, investment advice and suggestions are attributed to me not coming from me. This is a deceptive ad. Please note: I have not created or supported this type of message. We would like to thank you for your hard work and support. ”
Nadal's Legacy and Retirement
The 39-year-old Spaniard, considered one of the greatest players in tennis history, officially retired in November 2024 after representing Spain in the Davis Cup. During his bright two-year career, Nadal has spurred generations with his relentless playing style, collecting 22 Grand Slam titles, including a record 14 French Open Crowns.
Nadal is the latest global sports figure to misuse his likeness through AI-driven fraud.
Several other athletes and celebrities have recently complained about deepfake videos and manipulated audio used without consent to promote cryptocurrencies, trading platforms, or rich schemes. Nadal's warnings only raise new calls for stricter regulations and digital safeguards.
