The widespread and continuous attacks on each other's territories by Israel and Iran are concerned about people all over the world. Both countries are targeting each other as Israel attacks Iran and Iran counterattacks in retaliation.
At least 224 people have died in IranIranian authorities say human rights groups have reported a fairly high number, but at least 657 people have died.. In Israel, authorities have reported 24 deaths. Thousands were injured on both sides.
Over the next two weeks, US President Donald Trump is planning to decide whether the US will take part in the Israeli conflict.
But what do the Israelis think about their country attacking Iran? The viral video is said to show what Israelis think about the war.
Does this video show a protest in Israel?
Claim: This video (Archived here)) reportedly shows that hundreds of Israelis are protesting Israel's “war with Iran.” People on the streets waving the Israeli flag are screaming, “Stop the war. Iran, I'm sorry. I want peace!” The video has been viewed over 4.9 million times and is shared on several social media platforms, such as Facebook..
DW Fact Check: fake
Comments under videos like “Time for Israel's Change of Regime” show that many social media users think the video is authentic. But it's not – it's generated by AI. This is how we know it.
First, look at the movement of people's mouths in the video. They look artificial and unrealistic. Some of their arms appear and disappear while they chant. Secondly, the quality of the video is very poor, making it easier to believe it is authentic.
Third, if you look closely at the right corner of the video, you can see the watermarked “Veo”. This is a sign that the video was made with VEO3, a Google AI tool.
Experts like Hany Farid, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, specializes in digital forensics, but have recently seen many fake videos created with the tool.
“One simple tip-off… all of these videos are made up of exactly 8 seconds in length or short (less than 8 seconds) clips combined together.”. “Why 8 seconds? This is the current maximum length that the VEO 3 can produce continuous shots. Other models have a slightly longer limit, but 8-10 seconds is typical.”
This video, which is believed to be an Israeli protester against the war between Israel and Iran, is also 8 seconds.
Anti-war demonstrations in Israel?
This evidence indicates that the video is most likely to be produced. But is there still a real protest against this war in Israel?
So far, there have been no reports of a massive Israeli protest against the conflict between Israel and Iran. We were unable to find videos or images from news agencies showing a large demonstration in Israel that there was no such protest by the time of publication.
On the contrary, recent polls show widespread support among Jewish Israelis for a strike against Iran. Approximately 83% support Israeli military operations, expressing confidence in Israeli security agencies and preparation for long-term conflict.
In contrast, the majority of Palestinian Israeli citizens said they opposed the strike and supported diplomacy over military action.
