The video was widely shared online, including by commentators affiliated with the Splinter news agency, on April 30, and depicts an alleged attack on an alleged “Ukrainian intelligence hub.” The content suggests that these sites were involved in operations against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The footage mentions the three Ukrainian cities where the attacks are said to have taken place: Kiev, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. However, all the visuals shown in the video are generated using artificial intelligence.

The disinformation campaign comes amid continued political engagement between Moscow and Tehran.
Recently, Russian leader Vladimir Putin met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in St. Petersburg, expressing support for Iran and discussing regional stability.
During the meeting, Russia reiterated its readiness to act as a mediator in the Middle East in the wake of recent attacks on Iranian targets by the United States and Israel, which Russia has condemned. The Kremlin has also proposed transferring Iran’s enriched uranium out of the country as a means of de-escalating tensions, an idea not accepted by the United States.

“We are witnessing how bravely and heroically the Iranian people are fighting for independence and sovereignty. And, of course, we strongly hope that, relying on this courage and desire for independence, the Iranian people will overcome this difficult and trying period under the guidance of a new leader and that peace will prevail,” Putin said.

At the same time, Iranian authorities called on young people to form “human chains” around power plants across the country after US President Donald Trump warned that Iranian infrastructure could be targeted if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
