Turning ideas in your head into visual content has never been easier thanks to the gusts of new AI tools.
Additionally, the goal of Rebecca Kossnick is to further simplify content creation for everyday people with Hypernatural, a generic AI platform that creates both image and video content.
“We're thinking about what we're building as a camber for videos,” Kossnick, CEO of Hypernatural, told Business Insider.
If Canva proves that he doesn't need to make his graphic design degree his passion, HyperNatural wants to prove that he doesn't need to know Adobe After Effects to turn his ideas into videos.
Founded in 2023 by Kossnick and Taylor Hughes (CTO), Hypernatural's Video Generation Tech, who I first met while working for Facebook, uses an average of 15 different AI models, including Google's VEO 3, Lightricks'LTX, and Black Forest Labs flux. Kossnick said platform speed is a key selling point.
“We're not building a foundation model. We're building the technology to understand and deploy foundation models as quickly as possible,” Kosnick said.
The startup has exclusively told Business Insider that it has raised a total of $9.2 million in two rounds from investors AIX Ventures, Underscore VC, Adverb Venture, Character Capital and 43 VC. Part of Hypernatural's total funding includes a $6.8 million seed round led by AIX, which was closed in December 2024.
The funds for Hypernatural, a team of five now, are headed for recruitment (Kossnick will focus on recruiting engineering talent and build the technology for the platform.
“We're throwing money at what we work for,” Kosnick said.
AI video generation startups are raising funds left and right. With its own AI video model, MoonValley told BI earlier this month that it went up$84 million. Another AI video creation platform, Hedra, announced its $32 million Series A round in May.
Building for both creators and everyday consumers
“People are excited to buy products that support creativity,” Kosnick said. “It's the kind of place where we merge with the 'Prosumer' creator economy. Sometimes I create it for others.
Navigating the tools of the supernatural is very easy. For example, I created a 54-second video (created by 20 Aigenerated Images Hypernatural, with 20 AI generated) about a journalist writing the story in about a minute.
Here's how the platform works: The user enters a text prompt and selects the video style (such as an anime), length and size. Next, generate the complete script (users can also use existing scripts, and paid subscribers can upload audio files). At this stage, users can choose between narrator's voice and letter selection (custom-made text requires a paid subscription).
HyperNatural's platform then spits out the video and takes users to the editing page. There you can reposition scenes, edit scripts, revive scenes, and pull them out of a stock library of AI-generated videos.
“Our users really care about the rights to all the images and videos we create,” Kossnick said. “We only work with models that offer us commercial rights, which will carry over to our users.”
That “Creator” Tier's annual subscription costs $12 a month, with a higher tier offering more content credits and custom characters going at $48 a month. There is also a free tier that has limited access to the platform's tools.
HyperNatural said it has over 1 million users.
Kossnick says that early users of Hypernatural want to expand beyond experts, including “niche creators and storytellers,” podcasters, writers and faceless influencers.
“We're building a platform for everyone,” Kosnick said.

AI is converting video creation, but there is a dramatically different approach.
Zero Learning Curve – Now possible with video with generative models
Fast (Make a video in under 1 minute)
It's actually convenient – people use it then come back and use it again for multiple use cases
It's fun to use!!!

Even bigger picture:
The fun is the key
By inventing a new format of video that is fun, accessible and personalized, we dramatically grow the pie of who makes the video and how often it can do it.
Nowadays, people are exporting and posting content elsewhere, but they also watch it on Hypernatural. We imagine this behavior grows and becomes dominant over time.

“Hypernatural AI was a game changer for us. It is the only AI video generation platform that we have found to actually generate usable, high quality videos that are suitable for our real marketing and storytelling needs. We tested several other platforms that took us hours to generate short clips.
Speed, quality and reliability make it clear. I found a long-term video partner. ”

“I just wanted to express how absolutely blown away with your video generator. I'm very new to the world of AI, especially in the creation of videos. I'm completely speechless, especially after using your software. I've generated animations.
Keep up with the amazing work. Here are lifelong fans! ”

“I don't know how excited we are with supernatural software. If there's one tool that's definitely not exaggerated, then there's a community called Simpli Faceless, with almost 100% of our members using supernatural things.
We were able to help people get hundreds of millions of views at this point.
