According to an indictment filed in the Kiryat Shmona Magistrate’s Court, the suspect, identified as Badi Al-Am, entered and remained in Israel without permission from July last year until his arrest on March 17.

According to prosecutors, the suspect met the complainant, a resident of a community in the northern Golan Heights, on Instagram in October 2025. After that, the two met many times at guesthouses in northern Israel and had a close relationship.
At the beginning of their relationship, the suspect allegedly falsely identified himself as “Fadi Tripi” and claimed to be living in Haifa and working for the Mossad. The man allegedly told the woman he was participating in security operations in enemy territory and sent her photos and videos to support his false identity.
He also used artificial intelligence to create videos posing as Israeli Air Force pilots, according to the indictment.
In early February, the suspect secretly filmed the woman during a sexual encounter and also captured additional images of her partially or fully undressed without her knowledge or consent, prosecutors said. He then sent the footage to her, but she refused her request to take it down.
According to the indictment, the suspect used the material to blackmail the woman. In one message, he is said to have written, “If you don’t listen and obey me, I will kill you and turn myself in.”
Authorities said the threats escalated after the suspect suspected the woman was having an affair with another man. He allegedly demanded that she end the relationship and sent her repeated messages, insults and threats that he would expose the affair to her family and husband.
After the couple separated in early March, the suspect allegedly contacted the woman’s husband and sent him intimate videos and images.
Prosecutors said the suspect’s actions were aimed at intimidating the woman and forcing her to comply with his demands, including offering tens of thousands of shekels of money and jewelry.
He is charged with extortion by threat, distribution of sexually explicit material, invasion of privacy, and illegal entry and residence in Israel. Prosecutors requested that he remain in custody until legal proceedings are completed.
Police said the suspect was arrested as a result of an undercover operation by police officers from the Northern District.
Police said in a statement: “We take threats and violations of privacy with the utmost seriousness, especially when they take place in the digital realm and exploit cutting-edge technology.” “Israeli police will continue to act resolutely to locate, investigate and bring criminals to justice.”
