Orby's Series A investment, co-led by NEA, Wing VC and WndrCo, with participation from Pear VC, will define a new market for generative process automation.
Orbee AI (Obi) is Generative AI The enterprise solutions company announced that it has completed its Series A funding round, raising $30 million from world-class investors.
The Series A round was co-led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Wing VC and WndrCo, with participation from Pear VC. The new investment will be used to accelerate the development and commercialization of the industry's first generative AI process automation platform, powered by a sophisticated Large Scale Action Model (LAM). The Series A funding follows a seed funding round co-led by NEA and Pear VC.
“At WndrCo, we strongly believe that AI agents will fundamentally change the future of work,” said Jeffrey Katzenberg, founding partner at WndrCo. “Orby's platform automates mundane tasks so organizations can focus on their most strategic, impactful work. We're excited to partner with the Orby team to bring these capabilities to large enterprises.”

Redefining what's possible
Most businesses today have critical activities that can be fully automated, such as data entry, document processing, complex forms, invoices, expenses, and contract validation.
However, many organizations don't have a clear technical understanding of what's possible, so they're forced to waste time and money trying to figure out the best workflows to automate first. Unfortunately, traditional automation solutions lack the necessary AI sophistication, making it costly and technically difficult to go beyond simple rules-based automation to automate more complex, repetitive tasks.
“We see a huge market opportunity in applying generative AI technology to address complex enterprise workflows that can negatively impact productivity,” said Bruce Beck, CIO, Enterprise Systems, JLL Technologies. “Orby's unique AI approach will revolutionize the very fabric of the enterprise, untangling complex workflows and ushering in a future of unparalleled efficiency.”
“Yesterday's process automation solutions were not designed to handle the dynamic and complex nature of the work happening inside an enterprise,” he said. Vera Liu, co-founder and CEO of Orby AI“At Orby, we are incredible at unlocking what AI can do for businesses with an entirely new platform that observes and learns from every task performed, analyzes it in context, and creates automated workflows that can be executed instantly,” Liu concluded.

Orby AI has developed the first self-service, end-to-end generative AI platform to meet these modern automation goals. By eliminating complexity and creating your own workflow discovery, Orby's generative AI platform seamlessly builds automation for virtually any business workflow.
“Orby's approach and large-scale action model technology overcomes key challenges of traditional process automation and simplifies workflow definition for business users,” said Dan Twing, president and principal analyst, Intelligent Automation, Enterprise Management Associates. “Through neuro-symbolic programming, the company's platform captures standard process flows and ensures robust exception handling to deliver resilient automation solutions that enable enterprises to take advantage of AI-driven automation and become highly efficient.”
No more rules
Unlike traditional automation solutions, Orby's patented technology combines a multi-modal Large Action Model (LAM) foundation with AI agents that leverage cutting-edge neuro-symbolic programming (using symbolic reasoning and neural network-based analysis) to quickly and accurately generate actionable workflow automation that continuously learns, adapts and improves. Employees can now automate what they need, when they need it, without relying on technical assistance.
This unique combination of technologies makes Orby's platform the only one that can continuously observe, learn, automate and adapt repetitive workflows for a wide range of enterprise processes that traditional rules-based systems cannot support.
Orby dramatically reduces automation time from months to minutes, while enabling automation of tasks that require decision-making or domain knowledge that are not possible with traditional approaches.
Enter generative process automation
Generative Process Automation (GPA) is a new class of business process automation and the next generation of technological advancements that are redefining workflow automation in the enterprise.
This unique approach, also known as “agent process automation (APA),” effectively combines the advanced cognitive capabilities of AI with the benefits of automation, enabling systems to perform tasks that involve complex planning, reasoning and adaptation.
In this context, an AI agent receives a set of instructions and autonomously generates workflows incorporating other specialized agents to perform different subtasks such as data analysis, customer interaction, etc. This not only relieves humans of repetitive cognitive work but also enhances the process's ability to autonomously handle complex and changing scenarios.
