Openai is reportedly developing its own AI browser named Aura. Built on top of Chromium, it aims to challenge the advantages of Google Chrome, offering AI-driven features such as summaries, autofill and intelligent task processing.

Openai, the mastermind behind ChatGpt, is reportedly working on developing its own AI-powered web browser. The internal reference suggests that browsers are named Aura and are designed to deeply integrate AI into web browsing. This allows users to do more than searching. This means you can interact with the web using conversational AI.

Clues about the new browser have already emerged from the ChatGPT web app, where users have discovered mentions such as “In Aura” and “Aura SideBar.” Openai has not yet officially confirmed the browser's names, but these references strongly point to AI-driven browsers to give them strong competition with popular search engines like Google Chrome, Firefox, and more.

About Aura: Built on Chromium, designed for use with chromium

Early reports show that Aura is based on Chromium, the open source platform that drives Chrome and Edge. This means it is compatible with Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS.

Although Google Chrome clones are not the only browsers, Openai is expected to inject AI features such as:
