One UI 6.1.1 could focus on video AI innovation

Samsung appears to be fully committed to a new AI strategy for other consumer electronics products such as mobile devices, televisions, and bespoke products. Galaxy AI, which debuted on the Galaxy S24 series running One UI 6.1, seems to have been a huge success, or at least garnered a lot of attention. And things will continue to evolve in the direction of AI.

The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 and foldable Galaxy Z Fold 6 should take AI a step further. These are expected to come with One UI 6.1.1, a new version of Samsung's own Android interface, and the latter should come with new AI features. Although nothing has been confirmed, new rumors claim that one key piece of the AI puzzle has been solved.

Samsung to introduce video AI function this year

One of the major AI-related innovations that Samsung will reportedly release through the One UI 6.1.1 update is Video AI (via @UniverseIce). It's unclear how exactly video AI features will be implemented.

The existing Galaxy AI suite already uses artificial intelligence components for instant slow-motion functionality, which allows (some) Galaxy device users to play videos at slower frame rates through the Gallery app.

In theory, a more ambitious approach to implementing video AI on Galaxy devices through One UI 6.1.1 would be similar to OpenAI Sora. The latter is an AI model developed by OpenAI that can generate videos according to user prompts. This is similar to generative photography, except it focuses on creating videos.
