This video by MKBHD features Sora, a recent release from Open AI, makers of ChatGPT and DALL-E. Even before you press play, you'll be amazed at who the developer is, as it conveys a certain level of authenticity. While the picture isn't as perfect as it was the first time you saw it, the footage is shockingly impressive. What's even more amazing is how quickly this is evolving. It's not ready for film at this point, but given how quickly it's improving, I'm sure stock video will have a major impact even next year. Imagine if you ever needed footage of something like this. Now you can generate the footage instead of building a stock set.
My biggest concern and question is what percentage of the footage seen here is directly altered from user content – a lot of the footage feels like it's been directly influenced by some stock footage, and not diverse enough to be completely unrecognizable.
