Omnilert today announced that it has integrated Omnilert Gun Detect with Hanwha Vision Wisenet WAVE video management software (VMS) to provide a complete solution for gun violence and mass shootings, helping to save lives if a mass shooter enters a customer's facility. Wisenet WAVE VMS is a software platform for IP video surveillance applications that detects, streams, records, and analyzes live video from connected IP cameras and network video sources.

Integration with Omnilert Gun Detect enables the Wisenet WAVE platform to rapidly respond to a detected weapon within a fraction of a second and, once verified, execute a complete and robust response, including locking doors, calling police, sending alerts and providing situational information throughout the event.

“The integration of Omnilert Gun Detect with Wisenet Wave VMS provides additional security to protect our mutual customers from mass shootings and the threat of gun violence, which are at an all-time high in the United States,” said Nick Gustavsson, CTO and co-founder of Omnilert. “This means video feeds already managed by the WAVE platform can now be monitored 24/7 for the presence of weapons, allowing us to proactively respond before shots are fired.”

“OmniRert's firearm detection platform offers particularly powerful firearm detection analytics capabilities, while providing one of the most flexible and powerful alarm systems on the market,” said Mark Heintzmann, technical partnerships manager at Hanwha.

Omnilert Gun Detect's end-to-end detection, activation, and notification workflow enables automated initiation of an organization's active shooter response, enabling 24/7 monitoring and local first responder escalation, integrated notifications, and integration into Wisenet WAVE. The integration allows for selectable bookmarks and event triggers upon gun detection within Wisenet WAVE. Gun detection events can trigger multiple actions within WAVE, including sending notifications and displaying in alarm layouts. Additionally, Omnilert automatically configures camera settings such as IP address, camera name, and location, accelerating the deployment of Omnilert's active shooter solution.
