Meta and Oakley launch Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses in India, expanding Meta’s AI-enabled wearable lineup beyond Ray-Ban models. The glasses combine Oakley’s sports-focused HSTN frame design with Meta’s on-device AI and upgraded camera system. These are targeted at users who want to take point-of-view photos and videos without a phone, and who want hands-free access to Meta’s AI assistant.

Price and availability
Oakley Meta HSTN glasses are available in India in Clear and Prizm lens versions starting at Rs 41,800. The Prizm Polarized option is priced at Rs 44,200 and the Prizm Transition model is priced at Rs 47,600. All variants will be available from December 1st through Sunglass Hut and leading optical retailers. You can check it on Meta’s official website.

The glasses use a 12MP camera and are an upgrade over the first generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Record PoV videos at up to 3K resolution, 30fps, and 100 degree field of view. Standard, slow motion, and hyperlapse modes are supported. Still images are captured at 3024 x 4032 pixels and can be livestreamed by users to Instagram and other meta platforms.
It features five microphones that capture spatial audio while the open-ear speakers handle calls and music. Storage is fixed at 32 GB, which is enough to store over 1,000 photos and over 100 short video clips. The LED on the frame acts as a privacy indicator during recording. Connectivity includes integration with Apple Music, Spotify, and other apps via Meta AI commands. These new glasses are rated to last up to 8 hours, and the included charging case provides up to 48 hours of total use.
So, compared to Meta’s previous smart glasses, key upgrades include 3K video capture, a wider FoV, and Oakley’s sports-oriented frame design. An improved microphone system helps with clearer voice commands and better audio capture in active environments. Meta’s AI assistant is at the heart of the experience, allowing users to obtain information, manage music, and control camera functions hands-free. For India, this extends Meta’s AI ecosystem beyond phones and the Facebook app to wearables.
Its main rival in India is Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, which offers similar AI features in lifestyle-focused frames. Starting at a low price point, it’s perfect for those who prefer classic eyewear styles.
The glasses rely heavily on the Meta AI ecosystem, so users should check compatibility with the apps they use every day. Storage is fixed, which can be limiting for long 3K video sessions. Another thing to note is that open-ear speakers can leak sound in noisy environments. The HSTN frame leans towards a sports style, so it may not suit everyone. Buyers should also evaluate fit.
