Local TV channels successfully submitted YouTube strikes against all videos on the Italian version of the platform that used DLSS 5 trailers, including Nvidia itself. Game content creator NikTek said on its X account that the Italian media company used footage from the DLSS 5 trailer in its reporting. But it appears that an overzealous employee at the Italian company sent out a slew of DMCA complaints, after which YouTube’s AI moderators stepped in and removed all other videos with the same content.
The irony is that even Nvidia, the source of the clip in question, was removed by YouTube. While it’s easy to blame this misstep on the company or its employees, the bigger issue here is that YouTube appears to have taken action without considering the details of the complaint. The video platform says it uses AI technology for content moderation. “In our system, AI classifiers help detect potentially violating content at scale, and reviewers work to confirm whether content actually crosses policy boundaries,” the company said on its blog. “AI is continually improving both the speed and accuracy of content moderation systems.”
However, many creators are unhappy with YouTube’s use of AI technology. The platform is estimated to have terminated more than 12 million channels in 2025 for violations of its terms of service, most of which were flagged by AI. However, some affected creators complained that the reasons for the removal were inaccurate or false positives. Some said their appeals were dismissed within minutes of submitting them, suggesting the cases had not even been reviewed by a human.

This isn’t the first time an original video has been removed by another channel that was also used for its own reporting, but Nvidia may be the biggest victim so far. Additionally, many other creators who used the same clip in their reaction videos have also been affected.
While Nvidia may have the muscle and resources to get YouTube to restore their videos (which it hasn’t done yet as of this writing), these smaller creators may have a hard time getting their videos restored. More importantly, deletion can add strikes to your account, which many people try to avoid as it can lead to channel and account bans.
