Nvidia has released an update for it. Nvidia ChatRTX AI Assistant app. Enables larger language models and support for multilingual speech recognition. That's all somewhat exciting, but the reason I would consider trying this app is because it does all of its processing locally on the GPU, rather than sharing data with a cloud server. It's for a reason.
Nvidia ChatRTX isn't the first app to do this, but Nvidia GPU support inherently leverages its widespread use in many of the best graphics cards available today.
ChatRTX was first introduced in February and included this important feature at the time. But it's only now with the new update that I'm really paying attention.
Thanks to today's update, ChatRTX is now even easier to use, allowing you to interact with basically all the data on your PC in natural language. You can ask them to search for photos of you hiking, partying with friends, or visiting a specific location. You can also scan notes and emails to ask for an overview of plans with specific friends, family, or colleagues.
The actual interface looks very basic in some ways. You need to select the language model or image navigation model you want to use and navigate to the folder where you think the relevant data is stored. But that's also part of the charm of this work. It's simple and self-contained. There's no need to send your data to the cloud or have a huge data store tracking everything on your PC at once.
I'm saying this because I haven't actually tried it yet, but there's a good chance I'll download it soon and see if it meets my expectations. You can download the app here, but please note that the download size is 11.6 GB.
