Nvidia CEO: AI is creating huge numbers of jobs

AI News

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has sought to counter growing concerns that artificial intelligence (AI) will displace workers, arguing that the technology is creating jobs rather than eliminating them.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Milken Institute, Huang said AI represents a huge opportunity for economic expansion, especially in the United States. In a conversation with journalist Becky Quick, he described AI as a job creator on an industrial scale, positioning it as a force for reindustrialization rather than a threat to jobs.

“The first thing that AI is doing now is creating a huge number of jobs,” Huang said.

The remarks come amid a growing public debate about the pace of AI adoption and its potential impact on the labor market, especially among younger workers entering an increasingly automated economy.

Huang rejected the idea that automation would replace entire roles, arguing that AI tends to take over specific tasks within a job rather than eliminating the broad functionality of the role. He suggested that such concerns stem from a misunderstanding of how work is structured, with individual tasks just part of broader responsibilities.
