- New Diving Dogs AI Generation Video Continues with Cat Olympics Trendy

- Do dogs do better diving than cats? You decide
Heels in a video “doing Olympic diving” (or should it be a foot?) that was generated by an AI that broke the internet a few days ago.
Yes, it's a dog doing Olympic diving, and it opens up the possibility of debate about who will make it better – cats and dogs?
Created by Tiktok and Hailuo 02 user Stanislav Laurier, the video features the same impressive physics and realistic depictions of the dog who successfully made CAT videos in the first place. The way your dog bouncing off on a diving board before it becomes a spin makes this a truly impressive piece of AI.
And of course, dogs look just as realistic as walking along a diving board. Only when you see them making impossible spins will you realize this has to be AI.
Like CAT Video, this was created with the new VEO 3 and Sora's rivals called Hailuo 02, and it gives a quick show of how far AI video has come.
On the podium
After some impressive dives, the video ends on the winner's podium, showing which dogs came in third, second and first place. Here, the AI will drop slightly down as it says “1st” and “2nd” on the podium. It's amazing that all the complicated physics of spinning dogs can be correct, but you can't get a simple text correctly.
The video was posted on Tiktok and received quite a few comments, especially from Laura Smith, who hadn't seen the video being made with AI.
Other users seem to have solved it like Kaia:3.
Try it yourself
Hailuo 02 was created by Chinese AI video developer Minimax and debuted earlier this summer.
To use Hailuo 02 you will need to create an account (you can log in with your Google account), but you can then provide Hailuo with a free GOI. I asked it to create “Cats Throwing Shots at Kitty Olympics 2026”.
As a “non-member” (subscription available, from $95.99 to about £70/£147 – $147 per year -) I earned 500 free points valid for the next 3 days and had to wait in a 4-minute queue. A few minutes later, my video was ready and only used up 25 of my points.
I'll admit it doesn't look good, but that was my first attempt. If you spend more time investing in the refinement of the very simple prompts I used, you will get much better results.
So, who do you think will receive the award for the best Olympic diving? Dogs or cats? Comment in your opinion below and don't pretend that this is exactly what AI was created.
