The Bosun Tijani Police Station has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at improving digital connectivity across Nigeria’s police stations as part of its efforts to strengthen law enforcement capacity.

The agreement, signed with the Executive Director of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Mr. Mohammed Sheidu and members of the Board of Directors, focuses on increasing the connectivity of police facilities across the country under the government’s digital transformation agenda.

Central to this effort is Project BRIDGE, which connects police stations to Nigeria’s national fiber-optic trunk. This project is designed to enable secure data sharing across law enforcement agencies and improve communication efficiency between police departments and central command organizations.

The minister said the digital upgrade will also prepare police agencies to leverage emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence to improve incident response, incident management and predictive analytics. The objective is to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making in the security field.

The initiative reflects the federal government’s broader push to expand digital infrastructure across public agencies, with a focus on improving service delivery and strengthening national security systems through technology.

Bosun Tijani pointed out that a collaborative police force is more effective, and stressed that the digital transformation agenda must include institutions responsible for public safety and national security.
