Fremont, California, July 29, 2025– (Business Wire) – Nextracker (NASDAQ: NXT), a leading solar technology platform provider, today announced the launch of a new AI and Robotics Business Initiative, locked in by the appointment of the first Chief AI and Robotics Head and a series of strategic technology acquisitions. Over the past four quarters, the company has invested over $40 million to acquire three AI and robotics technologies. These acquisitions will strengthen Nextracker's end-to-end digital platform, enhancing the deployment, quality, reliability and long-term return on investment (ROI) of asset owners' solar power plants.
Nextracker has appointed Dr. Francesco Borrelli as Chief AI and Robot Officer. A pioneer in predictive control systems, Dr. Borelli brings decades of experience in developing and commercializing autonomous technologies across the robotics, automotive, and industrial sectors. In his new role, he will guide AI, machine learning and advanced robotics integration into Nextracker products and solutions, supporting global scalability and long-term innovation.

Responsible for asset owners reduces operational risk, improves uptime and proactively manages site health. A team of Onsight's robotics engineers, field operations specialists and product developers have joined Nextracker, and Onsight products are currently on the market in the US with a global rollout planned next year.

Amir Robotics (March 2025): Developer of lightweight, waterless robotic cleaning technology designed for daily operations at large solar sites. This innovative solution has been integrated into Nextracker's existing data infrastructure, reducing soil-related yield losses and is currently being tested on several commercial sites.
